Norway’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries has decided that all Norwegian fishing and catch vessels will be subject to position reporting requirements from 1 April 2027.
The decision primarily affects registered vessels under eight metres that were previously exempt. Recreational fishing for one’s own household is not covered.
Financial support is available for purchasing and installing the equipment, but no amounts are specified.
