British pharmaceutical company Glaxosmithklines’ planned staff cuts risk affecting 1,217 positions in Belgium, including 735 management positions and 482 office positions. Bloomberg News reports, citing the Belgian newspaper L’Echo.
Union negotiations are to begin to limit the number of layoffs. The cuts come as GSK plans savings of 1.9 billion pounds to increase investment in research and development.
