Prisjakt proceeds with lawsuit against Google

Price comparison website Prisjakt today filed a lawsuit against Google through its subsidiary Prisjakt Sverige at the Patent and Market Court in Stockholm. The company is seeking approximately SEK 21.4 billion in damages, according to a press release.

The claim concerns damages that Prisjakt believes it has suffered as a result of Google’s abuse of its dominant position, both during the period covered by the European Commission’s decision in the Google Shopping case and during the period thereafter.

The lawsuit was announced on September 16.

How much of any potential damages will accrue to Prisjakt Sverige depends on the outcome of a judgment or settlement, as well as deductions for agreed allocations and costs for external financing of the dispute.
