Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries proposes stricter requirements for full king crab quota

The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries proposes that the turnover requirement for a full king crab quota be raised from NOK 200,000 to NOK 400,000 in 2027.

The requirement concerns the previous year’s sales of species other than king crab. Lower turnover results in a reduced quota, at levels of 10, 25, 50 and the proposed 75 percent of the full quota. The total quota and thus the vessel quotas for 2027 have not yet been determined.
