China’s restrictions on fuel exports do not affect Philippine oil companies’ existing supply contracts, Energy Minister Sharon Garin said, according to Reuters. China has assured that long-term contracts will be honored.
The Philippines buys a quarter of its diesel from China and has stocks of more than 1 million barrels.
The government is also examining long-term supplies from other countries.
