Oil prices rise after reports of halted Chinese fuel exports

Oil prices turned higher on Thursday after reports that Chinese refineries halted fuel exports in October to secure domestic supply. Brent crude rose 2.4 percent to 100.36 dollars per barrel, while WTI rose 2.5 percent to 92.70 dollars.

Petrochina has reportedly canceled a number of planned deliveries of gasoline and jet fuel, according to Reuters.

The energy market is also under pressure from disruptions linked to the wars between the US and Iran and between Russia and Ukraine.

The rise came despite concerns over crude oil supplies from the Middle East easing after Saudi Arabia resumed deliveries from Yanbu via the East-West pipeline.
