Eli Lilly reports positive results with Elora TZP in Phase 2b

US pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly reports positive results from a Phase 2b study of EloraTZP, a combination of eloralintide and tirzepatide, in 367 adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes.

After 48 weeks, all studied dose combinations met the primary and secondary endpoints. Patients receiving EloraTZP reduced their body weight by an average of up to 24.5 kilograms, corresponding to 23.3 percent, and lowered HbA1c by up to 2.9 percentage points.

For comparison, eloralintide alone resulted in an average weight reduction of up to 13.0 kilograms, while tirzepatide 15 milligrams resulted in 15.6 kilograms.

The results were presented at the EASD diabetes congress in Milan.
