Biotech company Cantargia has presented preclinical data showing that nadunolimab in combination with a RAS inhibitor reduced tumor burden and affected the tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer. This is stated in a press release.
The study focused on the basal-like subtype of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, PDAC, which is associated with the poorest outcomes. In a preclinical model of HMGA2-positive and KRAS-mutated cancer, the combination treatment also reduced immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment.
According to Cantargia, the results support the planned Phase 1b/2a study of nadunolimab in combination with a RAS inhibitor in PDAC.
The results were presented at an AACR conference on pancreatic cancer in San Diego.
