The launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on 19 November could benefit the gaming platform Roblox by inspiring users to create their own games with similar themes, according to industry experts interviewed by Bloomberg News.
Roblox has 123 million daily users, and games inspired by Grand Theft Auto themes have been played more than 100 billion times in total. Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki believes that GTA VI could encourage more people to both create and play content on Roblox.
A potential boost comes as Roblox expects adjusted revenue, net bookings, to decline by up to 18 percent in the third quarter following the introduction of new safety measures. The stock has fallen nearly 50 percent so far this year.
