The cryptocurrency exchange Bitget says that assets worth approximately 351.6 million dollars have been affected by unauthorized transfers from certain digital wallets. Withdrawals have been temporarily paused while the incident is investigated.
Bitget says that customer balances are accurate and that trading and deposits are functioning.
Cold wallets are not believed to have been affected.
According to CEO Gracy Chen, the affected amount is fully covered by the company’s user protection fund, which contains more than 464 million dollars.
The cause of the breach has not yet been established.
